Uyuni is a cold, desolate (and destitute) town. It seems to exist only for one reason. It is the entry point to the world’s largest salt flat – the 10,000 sq.km vast and magnificent, Salar De Uyuni in Bolivia.

When I was pregnant with my first child, I got a lot of “advice” from friends and family about how my life would change and we would have to slow down and how my enthusiasm for travel would have to be put on hold for a while.
